Sheffield Open Up Studios Winter 2009

The studio will be running a series of events over both weekends of the 28/29th November and 5/6th December 2009 in conjunction with the Open Up Studios.
There will be a series of demonstrations, talks, and workshops in the studio and gallery ‘B’, in addition to the two exhibitions, “Horses lend us the Wings we Lack” in the main gallery and “Compendium” in gallery ‘B’.
The children are catered for in the adjoining ‘Hullaballoos indoor play centre where further art workshops will be taking place in addition to it’s usual activities with a discounted entry on each of the ‘Open Up Sheffield’ days.
All the artists will be present on all the days to talk about their work, tutorials, and commissions.
The craft shop will be open with a display of craft and artwork by artists in textiles, jewellery, wood, cards, etc, a perfect place and time to get handcrafted presents.
Studio events
Saturday 28th November 2009 12noon-2.30pm
Caro Ward artist exhibiting in the main gallery “Horses Lend us the Wings we Lack”
will be in attendance.
Sunday 29th November 2009 12noon-1.30pm
Resident artist Joanne Jenkins will demonstrate pastel work
Saturday 5th December 2009 10am-4pm
Textile artist Jean Golby will be running a full day workshop creating a Christmas table runner.

Sunday 6th December 2009 12noon-1pm
Resident artist Anthony Carroll will be giving a talk about reading a painting using a masterpiece as an example with an open discussion on its symbolism.
There will be a number of continuous rolling events in the Hullaballoos centre that will include, face painting, making a Christmas card to take home.
Santa has said he will be coming but to a heavy work load and bad weather over the Arctic he will have to get back to us with the time and date.
